In 2012, Darius Anderson, a longtime California lobbyist, political powerbroker and developer, led a team of North Bay business executives to purchase the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. Anderson’s media company, Sonoma Media Investments, now owns the majority of the newspapers in Sonoma County. In October 2017, while the North Bay wildfires still burned, Anderson founded the Rebuild North Bay Foundation, ostensibly to provide relief to thousands of victims of wildfires.
