Description

University of California women’s swimming head coach Teri McKeever, the most successful female coach in the sport’s history and the only woman to serve as the U.S. Olympic team’s head coach, bullied, verbally and emotionally abused more than 40 athletes during her 29-year career at Berkeley. In some cases McKeever swore at athletes, used racial slurs and revealed private medical information about swimmers in violation of federal and state law and university policy.

Forty-four current or Cal swimmers, 23 parents, a member of the school’s men’s team, three former Cal coaches, a former administrator and athletic department employee confirmed McKeever’s abuse to the Orange County Register/Southern California News Group.
